Overview
Located in the Russian Far East, the Amursk hub is Polymetal’s largest project and the first gold pressure oxidation plant in Russia. It includes two high-grade refractory gold deposits, Albazino and Mayskoye, with total reserves estimated at 4.6 Moz of gold containing 5.4 g/t, and three processing facilities, the Amursk hydrometallurgical plant, the Albazino concentrator and the Mayskoye concentrator. The Amursk hydrometallurgical plant uses pressure oxidation (POX) and cyanidation technologies to process refractory concentrates which require pre-treatment oxidation before conventional cyanidation to extract the sulphur component.
Construction of the Amursk POX plant was completed in December 2011 and the first gold was poured in April 2012.
In 2013-2014 the Amursk hub will reach its design capacity of c. 225 Ktpa of concentrate resulting in approximately 400 koz of gold produced per annum with the inclusion of concentrate from the Mayskoye mine.

Location
The POX facility is located in Amursk – the city with a population of approximately 43,000 people, located on the northern bank of the Amur river in the Khabarovsk territory of the Russian Federation, 350 km from Khabarovsk and 54 km from the large industrial city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Amursk was selected as a POX facility site due to availability of a stable and highly qualified labor force, excellent transport infrastructure including railroad, motorways and a river port, and grid power (installed capacity of the local coal and gas power plant is 260Mw, only half of which is used during the peak hours).
